FaceMuse Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how FaceMuse collects, uses, stores, and protects information
when you use our app, website, and related services.

1. About FaceMuse
FaceMuse is an AI-powered beauty companion designed to provide skincare guidance,
product checks, viral skincare routine analysis, glow-up insights, facial analysis,
and personalized beauty recommendations. FaceMuse is for informational and cosmetic
guidance purposes only and does not provide medical diagnosis, treatment advice, or
professional dermatology services.
2. Information we may collect
Depending on how you use FaceMuse, we may collect or process the following information:
-
Photos, screenshots, and images:
Photos you choose to upload for face scans, product checks, routine analysis,
beauty analysis, or shareable result cards.
-
Face data:
Face photos you upload, visible facial features, visible skin concerns, skin
appearance observations, face-scan outputs, glow scores, and beauty recommendations
generated from your scan. Face photos may be used to infer visible beauty and
skincare attributes such as skin concerns, skin tone, apparent age range, face
shape, and facial-feature characteristics.
-
Social media routine information:
Public links, captions, screenshots, video evidence, public comments, thumbnails,
detected products, routine steps, ingredients, and other publicly available
information from TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, or similar routine
content that you submit for analysis.
-
Beauty profile information:
Information you provide during onboarding, such as age range, gender, ethnicity,
skin type, skin tone, skin concerns, beauty goals, routine habits, product
preferences, and related answers. Onboarding answers may be stored locally on
your device and on FaceMuse backend systems.
-
Scan and recommendation data:
Glow scores, facial analysis results, product-check results, saved scans, and beauty
journey history.
-
Account information:
A pseudonymous Firebase user ID, anonymous account records, account settings,
and deletion status. FaceMuse currently creates an anonymous Firebase account
after you press Get Started. Email login is not currently configured, but we may
process your email address if you contact support.
-
Payment and subscription information:
Purchase status, RevenueCat customer identifiers, product IDs, entitlements,
scan-plan information, renewal events, expiration events, transaction metadata,
and related subscription information. Payment-card details are handled by Apple
or Google, not FaceMuse.
-
Support information:
Messages, email address, and details you provide when contacting support.
-
Usage, analytics, and diagnostics:
App activity, feature usage, install attribution, deep links, campaign information,
device identifiers where permitted, notification interactions, crash logs,
performance data, and diagnostic information. Analytics events may be associated
with a pseudonymous Firebase user ID.
-
Notification information:
OneSignal identifiers, push tokens, opt-in status, platform information, and
notification engagement data when push-notification features are used.

- To save scan results and help you track your beauty journey over time.
- To create shareable result cards when you choose to use that feature.
- To manage accounts, subscriptions, premium access, and app functionality.
- To respond to support requests, feedback, and technical issues.

- To help protect the security, integrity, and reliability of our services.
4. Face data, photos, scans, and AI processing
FaceMuse collects face data only when you choose to upload or capture a face photo for
a FaceMuse scan. Face data may include the uploaded image, visible skin and facial
feature observations, scan outputs, glow scores, and related cosmetic recommendations.
FaceMuse uses this data to provide face scans, skincare guidance, makeup suggestions,
hair ideas, color guidance, result cards, saved scan history, and app safety and
reliability features.
FaceMuse does not use face photos or derived facial information to recognize,
authenticate, or uniquely identify you. FaceMuse does not intentionally create a
face template for identity matching. Whether particular information is legally
classified as biometric or sensitive personal data may depend on applicable law.
FaceMuse uses third-party AI and analysis providers to process scan requests. These
providers may include OpenAI, L.L.C. for face analysis, viral-video analysis, fallback
product analysis, and image generation or editing; Google Gemini for product image and
text analysis; Perfect Corp for skin, face-shape, skin-tone, apparent-age, and related
visible-attribute analysis; and Apify for public social URL, metadata, public-comment,
thumbnail, and video-evidence retrieval.
FaceMuse displays explicit consent before sending face photos to third-party AI or
face-analysis providers. Product checks and social routine analysis begin when you
submit a product image, text, or public social link, and by submitting those items you
request the processing needed to provide that feature.
FaceMuse does not use scan results as medical advice. If you have medical, skin health,
allergy, or dermatology concerns, you should speak with a qualified professional.
5. Sharing of information
We do not sell your personal information. We may share information with trusted service
providers only as needed to operate, secure, and improve FaceMuse. These providers
include Google Firebase for anonymous authentication, Cloud Functions, Firestore,
Storage, and analytics; OpenAI, Google Gemini, Perfect Corp, and Apify for AI,
image, face, product, and social-routine processing; RevenueCat for purchases,
subscriptions, entitlements, and scan-plan information; OneSignal for push
notifications; AppsFlyer for install attribution, deep links, campaign information,
device identifiers where permitted, and app events; PostHog and Firebase Analytics
for product usage and event analytics; Apple and Google for app store payments; and
customer support, hosting, security, and crash-reporting providers.
Third-party service providers are permitted to process information only as needed to
provide their services to FaceMuse, maintain security, comply with law, and support
reliability. We require service providers to protect personal information with
appropriate privacy and security safeguards and not to sell the information they process
for FaceMuse.
FaceMuse may retrieve alternative-product information from retail or product sources
such as Amazon, Walmart, Target, Sephora, Ulta, iHerb, Dermstore, and similar sources.
Public social-video links and retrieved public content may be cached and reused for
other users who submit the same public link. Private onboarding answers are not placed
in that shared social-link cache.
We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect our rights, to prevent fraud
or abuse, or to maintain the safety and security of FaceMuse and its users.
6. Data storage and retention
We keep information for as long as needed to provide the app, maintain your account,
comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, improve our services, and enforce our terms.
Retention periods vary depending on the type of information and how the app is used.
Temporary face and product uploads are normally deleted after processing and become
eligible for automated deletion after approximately one hour. Unsaved or orphaned scan
images are scheduled for deletion within a maximum of approximately seven days. Images
belonging to saved scans, saved scan results, glow scores, and beauty journey history
may remain until you delete the scan, delete your account, or contact us to request
deletion, unless longer retention is required for account support, safety, security,
legal, fraud-prevention, transaction, or operational reasons.
Public social-media content retrieved for viral-routine analysis may be cached and
reused for other users who submit the same public link. Cached social content is
periodically revalidated, including after approximately 24 hours, and may remain until
refreshed or deleted under FaceMuse's operational retention schedule.
OpenAI API data is not used for model training by default, but default abuse-monitoring
logs may be retained for up to 30 days. Google Gemini data treatment may differ
depending on the Gemini API account and billing configuration used for production.
Other providers process data according to their own service terms, data controls, and
privacy practices.
7. Your choices and rights

- After account deletion, minimal de-identified security, deletion-suppression, accounting, transaction, webhook, fraud-prevention, and legal records may remain where necessary.
8. Children’s privacy
FaceMuse is not intended for children under the minimum age required by applicable law.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children where parental consent
is required. If you believe a child has provided personal information, please contact us.
9. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to help protect information.
However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee
absolute security.
10. International users
FaceMuse may be operated using service providers located in different countries. By using
FaceMuse, your information may be processed in countries other than where you live.
11. Website translation
The FaceMuse website may offer a Google Translate-powered language selector. If you
choose to translate the website, Google may process the page text, selected language,
browser information, and related technical information needed to provide translation.
Google's own terms and privacy practices apply to that translation service.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make changes, we will update
the "Last updated" date on this page. Where required by law or where changes materially
affect how we collect, use, share, or retain personal information, we will provide
additional notice or request consent before the change applies.
